Day 14: Geeks in Silicon Valley
Today I met up with fellow WWDC-attendees from Australia for a bus tour to Silicon Valley.
We visited:
- Fry’s Home Electronics
- The Computer History Museum
- Apple headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop, including the company store there
The most interesting thing for me was seeing the Babbage Engine in operation; as the person demonstrating it was keen to point out, this isn’t a replica, it’s serial number 2 of a design from 150 years ago that has only recently been constructed. I’ll try to upload a video of it in operation when I get a chance.
